Kirsti Kuhi – open-class fitness champion

Kirsti Kuhi fitness victory: the Tartu competitor wins Estonia’s first open-class title as the third aerobics festival concludes in Tallinn.

The third aerobics festival has concluded. Yesterday, 14 finalists competed at the TTÜ Sports Hall to crown Estonia’s first open-class fitness champion, alongside the traditional FitGirl title.

Awards for the organizers!

For their active contributions to the event’s success, Nokia recognized the festival’s head coach Kaisa Teimann and last year’s Aura FitGirl, Tallinn’s Helja Aas, one of the exercise leaders on the morning show Terevisioon.
Helja did not compete this year, but before the final she had words of praise for the women from Tartu. She singled out Kristiina, Dagmar and Rica as her favorites.
Mati Lilliallik of Nike, who handled the technical setup, declined to name a favorite, saying that everyone who had made it through was good.

Through three rounds

1 plus 1 plus 1. A lively opening group performance, choreographed by coach Hakman, was followed by individual routines lasting at least 45 seconds, then a group dance to compare strength and endurance. Three judges led by Finland’s Tiina Ranin assessed the aerobics component, while three led by Tallinn’s Gert Koovit assessed the fitness component separately. Their assessments were combined to determine the podium places.

The title goes to Tartu.

Before Kirsti Kuhi was crowned champion, host Ivar Jurtshenko also presented her with special awards. The young woman from Livoonia received both the main sponsor Aura’s prize and the Amazon portal’s readers’ award. Krista Noor was the favorite of three award presenters: Garnier, Sportland and Fila all singled out a competitor who did not make the top three this time.
Joining Kuhi in the top three were Dagmar Neem of Tallinn, the winner from two years earlier, and Rica Varul, also familiar to viewers of Terevisioon.
Bodybuilding champion Ott Kiivikas of Robocop considers it a great event. The steadily growing turnout bears that out. Still, men should not be pushed so hard to take part. Those who want to will come of their own accord; you cannot send every boy through ballet school to prepare him for life. Let men have the gym and its machines, along with other more masculine sports.
Today’s report also includes a photo gallery compiled by the portal’s publisher, Arnod Tokko. And remember, we will have another gallery like it from Võru in a week’s time, when the Estonian Bodybuilding and Fitness Cup takes place. The venue is Võru Kannel, on Sunday, starting at 14.
