Maxim Vorovski heads for the k-1 top in 2015

Maxim Vorovski has been invited to compete in 2015 at the world’s biggest and most widely covered professional k-1 tournaments.

“I feel more confident after the match with Vladimir Idranyi than ever before. He’s the strongest opponent I’ve faced so far, and I beat him convincingly. I managed to be the dominant fighter throughout the whole match and kept answering with strong counterattacks.”

Vorovski beat Slovak Vladimir Idryani at Xplosion in Tallinn in November, securing a place at the TATNEFT TNA tournament. Vorovski says the readiness is there to step into the ring with the world’s best middleweight fighters right now.

For this match I again spent three weeks training at my old club, Hemmers Gym in the Netherlands, where several Glory World Series fighters such as Filip Verlinden, Robin Van Roosmaalen and others were training at the same time. I did some very tough sparring with world-class fighters and saw that I was ready. It gave me a lot of extra confidence, which also came in handy when competing at Xplosion.”

The Estonian aiming for the world top also has the chance to compete at Glory World Series tournaments.

“I’m in constant contact, both directly and through my agent, with the promoters of the big tournaments, and for now it’s certain that I’ll compete on 21 February 2015 at the TATNEFT TNA tournament in Kazan, Russia. Negotiations are also under way with Glory World Series matchmaker Cor Hemmers, who promised to add me to a Glory fight card if I beat Vladimir Idryani. I’m very motivated right now and looking forward to 2015. I believe, and I know, that I can compete for first place.”

Maxim has already started training and also coaches others.

“Right now I’m easing into training and have recovered almost fully from my last match. I also coach young athletes and teach sessions at my home club, Viimsi Tigers Gym. I invite all the brave guys to come to Tigers to train and learn the k-1 style.

I also want to thank my major supporter Fresellet, who has helped me a lot this year and will help me on the road to the top. I’m very grateful to my team as well, who do great work supporting me, and special thanks go to Tony Hitrov for the great highlights.”

Estonia’s best wants to spend the end of the year with family. “I’ll be with my family and loved ones at Christmas and New Year. They hold a very important place in my life, and for me it’s the best time for rest and peace. I wish the same for my fans and supporters.”
