Regina Krukovskaja: Estonian bikini fitness champion

Regina Krukovskaja reached the top of Estonian bikini fitness in 2014 — six competitions, the Estonian national title in the -160 cm class and international appearances.

Regina Krukovskaja reached the top of Estonian bikini fitness in less than a year. She first stepped on stage in the spring of 2014; by autumn, she had competed six times and won the Estonian national title in the bikini fitness -160 cm class. How a beginner reached the top at such speed says more about her personal motto than any medal does: “anything is possible if you want it enough”.

Who is Regina Krukovskaja?

Regina Krukovskaja is an IFBB-licensed bikini fitness athlete representing Olimp Team. She competes mainly in the -160 cm and -163 cm classes, where competition is fiercest in the Baltic states — among shorter athletes, one or two points on the judges’ scorecards often decide the placings.

Bikini fitness is a stage competition class judged on balanced muscle mass, symmetry and confidence on stage. Athletes do not need a bodybuilder’s muscularity, but their bodies must be well trained, their subcutaneous fat minimal and their posing precise. Reaching the top usually takes years — in this respect, Regina’s story is an exception.

Regina Krukovskaja’s journey in bikini fitness

Her first competition was Reval-Cup 2014, held alongside the Tallinn Championships, where Regina won gold in the beginners’ -163 cm class. From there, she kept up a pace that would surprise even seasoned athletes: six competitions in a single season, including international appearances in Latvia, Lithuania and the USA.

The season’s highlight came at the Estonian Championships, where Regina won her class. Shortly before the championships, she gave those interested a glimpse of her training — the video below shows her training volume during the final week.

Regina says the biggest lesson is that no competition takes place solely on stage. The days leading up to a show — meal timing, water intake and sleep — determine what the judges see on stage. “Dedication” is the word that comes up most often in her account.

Regina Krukovskaja’s competition results in 2014

  • 1st place — Estonian Championships 2014, bikini fitness -160 cm class
  • 3rd place — Riga Pearl 2014, bikini fitness -163 cm class
  • 13th place — Nicole Wilkins Fitness Championships 2014, bikini fitness -163 cm class
  • 12th place — XVI Solar Cup & XXXVII Šiauliai Open Championships, bikini fitness open class
  • 2nd place — Estonian Cup 2014, bikini fitness -163 cm class
  • 1st place — Reval-Cup & Tallinn Championships 2014, beginners’ bikini fitness -163 cm

The results speak for themselves: four medals and two international finals from six competitions. Every placing in the -163 cm class is contested by dozens of competitors, so a podium finish never comes by chance.

What you can learn as a beginner from Regina Krukovskaja’s journey

First: a clear goal. Regina did not step on stage out of curiosity — she was already aiming for a title at her first competition. Second: a team. Olimp Team provides both a training plan and nutrition support; without these, she would more likely fit two or three competitions into a season rather than six. Third: patience with the small things. In bikini fitness, the winner is the athlete who can repeat the same day — food, training, sleep — dozens of times in a row.
