Trainer of the week – Kersti Murumagi

Meet Kersti Murumagi, our trainer of the week: a dancer since childhood, now a group fitness instructor who loves variety, bodytone and Nike Rockstar Workout.

Kersti has been dancing for as long as the memories go back. It began with folk dance parties in traditional costume, but as Kersti got a little older, the folk dance teacher was sadly left disappointed, because Kersti had decided that other dance styles were far cooler. So at 11, Kersti ended up in Kaia Heinleht’s show dance group. The bubbly Kaia also infected Kersti with the aerobics bug in those classes.
Many great things happen by chance, and so did Kersti’s coaching career, which began with covering for a friend. The field and the profession suited Kersti so well that soon Kersti was running classes of Kersti’s own at Keila Health Center. A seeker of perfection, Kersti also completed the Estonian Gymnastics Federation’s coach training and graduated as a licensed coach. By now Kersti has so much experience and so many years on the job that the next step is to apply for the next level up from the Level I occupational qualification.

Alongside the body, Kersti diligently trains the mind too: Kersti holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology. Priorities have to be set, and while Kersti kept a lower profile as a coach during university, Kersti made all the more time for the hobby-turned-job, aerobics and dancing, once school was over.

Today Kersti is a trainer at the downtown health clubs City SPA and Stilettos. There, together with friends, Kersti has created a small training studio of Kersti’s very own!

Kersti is a pro as a dance, hilow, body, step and bosu instructor, but is a particular fan of bodytone-style muscle training sessions, which Kersti enjoys designing, and of Nike Rockstar Workout classes. Kersti loves the latter because modern music, dance steps and a well-thought-out training program for everyone come together there!
Among other earthly pleasures, Kersti loves good food and red wine, and feels a kinship with all cats and dogs. Kersti believes that things should be taken on with enjoyment, and approaches them with plenty of zest: a lack of skill has never stopped Kersti from playing beach volleyball or going skiing. Pleasure can also come simply from a cheerful and optimistic attitude to things!

Kersti believes that aerobics and group training are a great way to get into shape and stay there, and is the best proof of that claim. Kersti’s good looks have led to some hobby modeling, and Kersti has even been chosen as a beauty queen, more than once at that! It probably also helps that Kersti shares one of the basic truths of training: variety is the key to success. Between dancing and group training, Kersti regularly visits the gym, cycles and runs long distances.

And Kersti draws the strength for all this hustle from wonderful clients and their smiling faces!!!
